The graduating Seniors and the orchestra of First
Baptist Church Newnan Ga traveled to Japan in June to help spread the word of Christianity to the people there. One
highlight was they were able to perform 4 concerts at the 150 year old celebration of the opening of Yokohama Harbor.
The group performed for a ticketed venue for the members of the Hongodai Church and over 1,000 people.
Concerts
were given at places such as Hongodai train station, Noah International Church School at Hongodai Christ Church, The Matiru,
which is a ministry for those with Down Syndrome, and some of the elementary schools as well.
When
they were not performing, the group was passing out flyers to concerts, heading down to parks and train stations to meet the
people and share their experiences.
Needless to say, this was an experience to be remembered always. The
Japanese were very receptive to the group and their purpose for being there.
